Henne Mines

Jote's clues reveal the party's next destination is the Henne Mines. There they find thick mist and a possessed Mrjn. Mrjn calls Ashe on being a power greedy hume and the party gives chase. Mrjn's possession awakens Tiamat. The party defeats the wyrm and saves Mrjn. Despite her head being foggy, she recalls that the humes passed through the forest and that it created a great disquiet within her. She followed them and was captured. They left nethicite beside her and told her it was a fitting end for her. She became possessed by mist and nearly driven insane; Fran had a similar issue earlier on Leviathan and this was how she recognized her sister needed assitance.

Despite the Archadians trying to kill Mrjn, she still believs that Ivalice is changing. She has not seen the war torn lands and believs that isolation will be the Viera-undoing. I cannot sympathize with her, or her behavior towards her sisters. It is very difficult for me. I understand her desire to be with her sisters and how impossilbe it is since Fran is no longer considered a true Viera by her people. I feel like Mrjn is so wrapped up in her own idea that she doesn't realize that she was captured and left to die. I get the feeling that she also blamed Jote for that, despite it was her own recklessness that almost got her killed.

This is not to say that I do not love Mrjn, because I do. I just feel like she doesn't listen. I feel like it took Fran a long time to understand. And I feel like Jote has not afforded her sisters with all the love that they deserve. I just want Mrjn to listen. Just hear something that Jote has to say. In the end, it is Fran who has the deciding factor in what happens with Mrjn.
