The Magus Sisters the Beauty of Balance

For the record, I do know that the actually name is "Remiem", but my mind always autocorrects to "requiem". Requiem is usually used in terms of "Mass for the Dead" this is particularly fitting for the Magus sisters and Belgemine. The four women together represent four souls. For me this also represents a balance of life and death, an important feature in Spira that is displayed by the Magus sisters in a harmonic party. Each sister has a role and fulfills that role in perfection, when one sister is down the dynamic of the party loses balance. I find the idea of balance extremely important for Spira that seems to lack a definitive balance between life and death. Death is so prominent in Spira that I feel it is important to look at the aspects of a particular "mass for the dead". Especially in terms of summoners sending souls to the afterlife. For me, the sisters are almost the embodiment of all that have passed and are now fighting back. They are, to me, the force that realizes that life is precious and that there is a balance to it. I feel that their flower and insect motif is a way to say, "We are life and we are fighting back." I like to think of it as the collection of souls that finally stand up and say, "Enough."

I'm also a big fan of the need to collect "blossom" and "flower" items for the insect armor wearing Magus sisters. This makes me smile in so many ways. Living with nature (away from technology) is a big part of Spira. Technology cannot get beyond a certain point otherwise Sin starts demolishing cities. For this reason, I feel that the people of Spira are more likely to be in-tune or reliant on nature. This is also why I think it's important and awesome that the Magus Sisters represent different insects. They represent different elements of life and each has separate strengths. At the same time, they work together harmonically in a way that presents and preserves balance.
