Shiva the Mother of Macalania

I find it interesting that the fayth in Macalania is what gives life to the lake and the surrounding woods. Once she is gone it all starts to fall apart. This is interesting to me in terms of a motherly or nurturing figure that supports life. Perhaps Shiva's form as a woman is more lent to the idea of being a mother. In context of Ziva, a fertility goddess, I feel that Shiva meets the "requirements" or basic ideas of living, being, and existing in which her being alive keeps the Macalania Lake and Woods healthy and flourishing. When Yuna defeats her to stop her from becoming Sin's next armor, Macalania starts to deteriorate. This is an important concept for me since I believe that the aeons served more than just the purpose of fighting for and talking with summoners. They had influence over Spira, more than I think most Spirans realized. More than Tidus and Yuna realized, at least. When I consider that summoners are revered as saviors, I feel it's pretty clear to see that the Fayth are almost divinity themselves.

Shiva has a lot of mythology, most notably being the Hindu god of that once saved the world by consuming poison which gave him blue skin around his neck. On the other hand, it is also believed that Shiva periodically destroys and recreates the world. Which fits with my idea of fertility and nature. Another idea that I feel fits with Shiva is that Shiva was thought to meditate in the Himalayas so ice might be more natural for the summon based on the climate. I also find it interesting that his dancing helps to banish ignorance and suffering from his followers, the Fayth doesn't dance, but she does sing. And I find that the Hymn of the Fayth has given resolution, peace, strength, and truth to the followers of Yevon from time to time. Something I feel is important, following similar concepts.
