Yojimbo the Sword of Resolution

I'm actually feeling very close to Yojimbo lately. I think he's the only aeon that I feel looks at the way things are being run and just decides there's enough of it. He adds to it, sure, but I'm also wondering if he just got sick and tired of the process. This could explain why his process is so much different than everyone else's. He doesn't have an overdrive. He requires that you pay him to do anything for you, and he even gets annoyed when you summon him for no reason - clearly, he's not the most friendly of people. On the other hand, when I consider how much the church has used people, I can see why he might be trying to get a little revenge picking on summoners. As someone who becomes nothing more than a tool himself, I can see how he might be willing to push summoners. Indeed, I feel like he might even be a little sick of the church considering his fayth was stolen but the upkeep of his statue is left to the fiends.

I certainly can't blame him for being stubborn. Actually, I also think of him as being the guy that finally stands there and says, "I can do it, for a price. What are you willing to pay?" I don't think of him as necessarily greedy - but he has to put a price on his services and it has to be something that the summoner can provide. What use does he legitimately have of gil? I'm sorry, Yojimbo-man, but where are you going to spend that gil anyways? On the other hand, I feel perfectly justified in paying him because I (or summoners) can say "Yes! This is what I will do." I feel as though it helps gives summoners resolve.

I actually don't have a lot to say about Yojimbo. I expect him to be a stubborn swordsman capable of cutting down anything and everything that stands in the way. He delivers on this, still collecting gil for reasons I cannot fathom. I suppose it's not like it matters since the summoner eventually dies anyways and doesn't really have any use for the gil either. In fact, Yojimbo is the only aeon I don't have anything particularly fancy to say. I can't reason for him and thus, I don't intend to try. I feel like he's tired of Bevelle. If my fayth were left to the fiends and summoners didn't get to me, I might feel the same way. Maybe his asking summoners to pay is a way for them to give up worldly desires and make them more devout. I don't know, I certainly could see how that might be. Maybe he just likes gil and that's all there is too it. But I kind of like to think that the trial through the caves, his stubborn refusal to lower his price after a certain point, and his blatant badassery are all testaments to his resolve.
